Forter Castle is one of the United Kingdom's most unique destinations and sits as a beautifully restored, self-catered retreat nestled in the breathtaking Scottish Highlands. 

Steeped in centuries of history the structure was rebuilt and restored to combine authentic period character with exceptional modern comfort, offering an unforgettable stay in one of Scotland's most spectacular landscapes. With its private Chapel on the Ground Floor of the fortress, it is the perfect setting for an intimate wedding or ceremony, and has been the site of countless celebrations. Every room has its own character and has been thoughtfully designed to honour the building's rich heritage, while still providing all the amenities plus more, expected of a luxury retreat.

Forter Castle was originally built in 1560 and then destroyed in 1640. Katharine Pooley and her father Robert have gone to great lengths to restore Forter Castle back to its former glory. Every detail has been carefully thought out from build to design installation.  Forter Castle is a wonderful location to celebrate special occasions such as weddings, birthdays, anniversary’s etc. but equally a wonderfully romantic destination or a place to gather with friends and family. The castle has given the Pooley family much joy over the years and it is with great pride they are able to offer guests a chance to rent the castle for whatever the need maybe after all this is now your Highland Retreat.
